Harriet Tubman

For the first 28 years of her life, Harriet Tubman lived as a slave on a southern plantation. She saw the injustice of slavery and vowed one day to be a free person. Finally with the help of a Quaker woman, she was able to escape to Philadelphia by way of the Underground railroad. After her escape, Harriet began her quest to help free other slaves, and over a 10-year period, she led more than 300 people through the Underground railroad to their freedom. She was a true heroine of her time.

“Thoughtfully presented and brought some tears to my eyes - moreover I learnt a lot about Harriet. ” ~ Parent
